Illinois Winner Claims Mega Millions Jackpot

A $552 million Mega Millions lucky Illinois lottery winner stepped up to win their colossal prize.

Nicknamed “Mega Millionaire,” the winner hit the jackpot after playing an online game, making it the biggest jackpot ever won through iLottery in U.S. history.

“I’m going through my email and I saw you ask me to check out the winning numbers in the Illinois lottery,” said MEGA Millionaire, who asked not to be named. “In the past, I’ve won $2 here or $5 there, so I thought it would be similar.”

The lucky winner went on to say, “You’ll be shocked and unbelievable when you see that I got my $552 million jackpot. I actually quit the app and logged in to double-check and make sure it was real. That was really fine, but it still feels surreal!”

MEGA Millionsaire matched five numbers with Mega Ball, 19-37-40-63-69-17, winning the jackpot in the Mega Millions draw on June 4, 2024.

“I was raised by a single mother and throughout my childhood, she had to work two jobs to support our family, to put food on the table, and for us to get an education,” the grateful winner expressed. “The day after I graduated from high school, I started working and I haven’t stopped since.”

The winner added, “I’m a hard worker. I spent my life as a laborer, and once I made a decent living, I asked her to retire and let me take care of him. It was my way of thanking him for how much he has sacrificed for us. I haven’t told her about this life-changing windfall yet, but when it comes, we will all shed happy tears.” 바카라사이트

Tuesday night’s historic online jackpot was the ninth-largest Mega Millions jackpot in the history of the game and the second-largest ever in Illinois. In July 2022, a ticket purchased at a gas station in Des Plaines received a $1.337 billion Mega Millions jackpot, which remains the largest lottery win in Illinois.

“I have always dreamed of retiring early and enjoying life with my family. I think it’s safe to say that my dream has just come true,” shouted the newly minted millionaire.

As always, the state of Illinois won big, too. During the Mega Millions jackpot roll that began on March 26, total ticket sales of nearly $28 million created $11 million for the Common School Fund to support the state’s K-12 education.
