Brennan Johnson could start alongside Son Heung-min.
Tottenham Hotspur will host Fulham in the ninth round of the 2023-24 Premier League (PL) season at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, England, on April 24 at 4 p.m. ET. Tottenham is fourth in the table with six wins and two draws (20 points), while Fulham is 13th with three wins, two draws and three losses (11 points).
After their last win against Luton Town, Spurs leapfrogged Manchester City into first place. With the top teams now playing a game apiece, they’ve slipped to fourth place, but Spurs can climb back to the top if they catch Fulham. Football London published its predicted starting lineup for Tottenham’s game against Fulham on Nov. 21, with Son Heung-min at the forefront of the lineup.
Son Heung-min has been on a tear, scoring six goals in the PL alone. A hat trick against Burnley, a multi-goal performance against Arsenal, and a goal against Liverpool helped him reach six goals. Harry Kane filled the scoring void left by his departure to Bayern Munich. With Heung-Min Son still not living up to expectations, Tottenham have been able to produce goals, which is why they are in first place.
He looked like he was going to be sidelined with groin discomfort, but he recovered well during the A-match. “Heung-min and Christian Romero will be in the starting lineup if they’re not too badly injured,” said Lee Wilmot of Football London, adding that Johnson could start in place of Heysel if he’s fit.
Johnson is a Nottingham Forest Sacral Youth. He grew up in the Nottingham youth ranks and has played exclusively for Nottingham since coming to the pros, with the exception of a loan spell at Lincoln City. In the 2020-21 season, when Nottingham were in the English League One (third tier), he scored 10 goals and provided 12 assists in 40 league games to help them win promotion. In 2021-22, he scored 16 goals and provided nine assists in 46 games in the English Championship (second tier). In the playoffs, he scored two goals in three games to help secure promotion.
In a back-to-back promotion, Nottingham faced relegation last season and Johnson’s performance helped them stay up. Johnson scored eight goals and provided three assists in all competitions in the PL. He used his quick feet to lead Nottingham’s attacks on the counter-attack, and delighted manager Steve Cooper by scoring whenever needed. Johnson’s rise from the third tier to the PL and the Welsh national team completed the drama.
He joins Tottenham. The €55 million transfer fee was the highest of any player to join Tottenham this summer. Johnson, who was expected to add strength to the attack, was sidelined for a while with an injury. With injuries to Manor 바카라사이트 Solomon and Ivan Perisic, Spurs are short on attacking options, and Johnson’s return gives them a good option. There has been speculation that Johnson could be given a bold start in place of the struggling Heung-Min Son. If he does start, it will be interesting to see how he links up with Son Heung-min.
