Uzbekistan coach Kafaje says ‘Hwang Sun-Hong denied a place in the final’ “They were better than us in tactics, combinations…we will focus on the next game”

The South Korean Asian Games football team, led by head coach Hwang Sun-hong, defeated Uzbekistan 2-1 on Thursday at 9 p.m. ET at the Huanglong Sports Center Stadium in Hangzhou, China, in the quarterfinals of the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games.

South Korea took the lead in the fifth minute with a goal from Jung Woo-young. Jasurbek Zalolidinov equalized from a free kick in the 25th minute, but Jung found the back of the Uzbek 텍사스홀덤 net again before the half-time whistle. The goal proved to be the winner.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Uzbekistan head coach Timur Kapadze said, “I want to thank all the players for their hard work. The game against Korea was very difficult. It gave us the determination to work hard and do our best. We took advantage of our chances and even had a shot on goal, but we couldn’t convert it. We wanted to keep the offense going, but we couldn’t do it despite our best efforts. We still have to play the next game. We will work hard to prepare for it,” he said after the match.

The Uzbek players received a number of cautions for excessive roughness and recklessness, and Abdurauf Buriev was sent off for accumulating cautions.

“In the last game, we had a lot of yellow cards,” Kapadze said. I don’t understand it. I want the game to be more fair. We thought we shouldn’t fight with the referee, but I think Korea was also strong, and from that point of view, I think the Korean players were very good. Our players are still young, so we will continue to work hard.”

After falling to Hwang Sun-hong, Uzbekistan’s hopes of reaching the final were dashed, and they now head to a third-place match against Hong Kong for the bronze medal.

“As you know, Korea is really good. They had the advantage in tactics, combinations. We have a young team, so it’s difficult for us to play against such a strong team. There is a difference in experience. But I’m proud of our players because they showed their best,” he said.

“Now we have to focus on the next game. It’s already in the past. We made a lot of mistakes in this match, so we will try to work on our weaknesses. We will recover and be fully focused on preparing for the next game.”
