Rose Gaming Resort To Open At End Of September 2024

Churchill Downs Incorporated announced today that Company C has received approval from Dumfries Town to open the Phase One of The Rose Gaming Resort with 1,650 historic racing machines. The figure represents an increase of 500 HRMs over previously announced by CDI. Located in Northern Virginia, The Rose will be open by the end of September 2024.

The facility will also be open with a 102-room hotel, eight food and beverage options, and more than 2,540 parking spaces. To date, the total capital investment in the project is expected to be $460 million and approximately $160 million will be spent as of Dec. 31, 2023. The company will provide the latest development plans for Phase 2 later.

As part of CDI’s commitment to the town of Dumfries, the company will make a one-time donation of $3.6 million to the town. CDI will also make a one-time donation of $2 million to support the design and development of the new community center in addition to the park currently being built on the site.
