Tongyeong KOVO Cup participating teams changed from 10 to 8… Choi Jae-hyo appointed as new referee chairman

The Korea Volleyball Organization (KOVO) held its 20th Board of Directors meeting on Monday.

The board discussed the 2023-2024 season results and business plans for the 2024-2025 season, as well as changes to the operation of the 2024 KOVO Cup.

Changes to the 2024 KOVO Cup Competition

The 2024 KOVO Cup, which will be held for the first time in Tongyeong in September, will have a change in the way it is organized. First, the number of participating teams in the men’s and women’s divisions has been changed from 10 to 8 teams each. The opening day has been moved from September 20 to September 21, as previously announced. The tournament will end on October 6, the same date as before. The 2024 KOVO Cup will be held at the Tongyeong Gymnasium in Tongyeong, Gyeongsangnam-do, and will be held from September 21 to 28 for the men and from September 29 to October 6 for the women.

Personnel at the Operations Center

The head of the Operations Department, Kim Se-jin, will continue as the head of the Operations Department. Kim will continue to serve as the head of operations for the 2024-2025 season in recognition of her steady leadership of the operations department and smooth on-site communication last season. In addition, Park Joo-joon will continue as the Competition Chairman. Referee Choi Jae-hyo will be the new chairman of the referee committee and will focus on refereeing operations.
