‘Curry scores 24’ as Golden State wins fourth straight…Cleveland leads East with seven straight wins
Steph Curry scored 24 points in his return from an ankle injury to lead the National Basketball Association (NBA) Golden State Warriors to their fourth straight victory.
The Warriors defeated the Washington Wizards 125-112 on Friday (Jan. 5) at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., in a 2024-2025 NBA regular-season road game. With their fourth straight win, the Warriors moved into second place in the Western Conference.

The Cavs held the lead the rest of the way to extend their unbeaten streak to seven games.
For Cleveland, Galland finished with 39 points, including 7-of-8 from 3-point range, while Mobley added 17 points and Jarrett Allen had 14 points and 15 rebounds.
For Milwaukee, Damian Lillard pitched in with 36 points, including five 3-pointers, and seven assists, but it wasn’t enough to prevent the team’s sixth straight loss.
Milwaukee (1-6), which finished third in the East last season, is in last place early this season.
The Denver Nuggets, led by Nikola Jokic’s third triple-double of the season (28 points, 14 rebounds, 13 assists), defeated the 13th-ranked Toronto Raptors 121-119 to move into ninth place in the West.
The 10th-ranked San Antonio Spurs, who were without the NBA’s winningest coach Gregg Popovich due to a health scare, were upset by the fifth-ranked Los Angeles Clippers, 104-113, in the West.
