Borgata in the Atlantic City
The groundbreaking ceremony for the $1 billion Bogata resort took place on Sept. 21, and many believe the move will be a turning point in Atlantic City’s next phase of growth. That evening, construction officially began in Bogata, which was the first new building in a decade.
William S. Boyd, Chairman and CEO of Boyd Gaming Corporation, attended MGM Mirage Chairman Terry Rani’s event marking the beginning of joint venture development between the two companies. In addition, the executive team was accompanied by prominent officials from New Jersey and Atlantic City, including New Jersey Governor Christine Todd Whitman, Atlantic City Mayor James Whelan.
When it opens in 2003, Bogata will be the first newly opened resort and largest hotel on the market in Atlantic City in 13 years. The 40-story development plan will include 2,010 rooms, approximately 120,000 square feet of gaming space, several specialty restaurants, a unique boutique, a European spa, and several entertainment venues.
The new four-lane Atlantic City-Brigantine link currently under construction will connect the Atlantic City Highway with the Marina District to provide central infrastructure for development in the region. The link will be completed in the next few months and will provide access to Borgata as well as other casinos and businesses located in the region. 파워볼실시간
